"Think opposites, Darling. Think opposites."

I LOVE this fashion advice from Izaac Mizrahi. He says to keep this in mind when choosing your outfits. Go for opposites to avoid looking like you've tried too hard. Say you have a long suede skirt. You pair it with tall boots and what on top?... a chunky cable knit sweater? That would be the obvious choice. But choose something opposite, like a lightweight floral sheer chiffon blouse, and your outfit has a whole new attitude!

Put an ultra dressy shirt with your jeans. Pair a tshirt with a super flirty lacy skirt. Have a black velvet blazer with a rhinestone button? You could pair it with black slacks... but that would be predictable. Put it with jeans. The opposite! If you're wearing a basic tshirt and jeans, put on a strand of granny pearls and a glitzy brooch. If you have a beautiful dress that you'd normally wear pantyhose and heels with, consider throwing a simple white cardigan over it and going with open toed sandals to dress it down. The object is to never look too stuffy.

Go through your closet and look at things with this perspective. You'll be amazed at how fresh your wardrobe looks when you pair up opposites!

I love this advice, too bad I am way too predictable and all of my clothes are the same!
