Grumpy Giveaway

Because I'm a grump, I decided to just be nice and give away a beautiful piece of jewelry. :)

All you need to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite way to cheer yourself up when you're down.

On Friday, I'll draw a random winner of a custom stamped sterling neclace!

You can choose a name or word to be stamped on your charm.

not sure if I can enter since I'm international but two scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream always cheers me up!

A delicious piece of chocolate, shopping (not always possible, but one can dream), and the best one is getting out the scrapbooks and reminiscing with my daughters. It is then that I am truly thankful for all that I have, and that definitely brings a smile to my face.

I'm so sorry you've got the grumps today. I have days like that too. I find that some good chocolate is always helpful. And prayer. It quiets my spirit and puts things in perspective.

y'know, honestly I listen to music. It has a way of cheering me up, I'm not sure if it's the beat or the lyrics that do it but music has a great way of changing your mood.

Plus my kitten Kona, she's an upper :)

My fav "cheer-me-up" by far is chocolate! It makes EVERYTHING better! Lovely necklace, by the way!

I cut my hair when I am down which I don't think you should do because I always regret it later. Also, I drink a glass of wine or a hot cup of tea. I hope you get cheery because so much time is wasted on feeling down in the dumps.

I go buy shoes... LOL!

Gosh, so sorry you have a grumpy day. The best thing that will help me is looking online at baby clips. Just something about those babies that laugh so much they make you feel good. Also a good cry helps me get out of the mood...I know weird but it does help.

:)~
Smiles sending your way to help your day better!

Cheer up,, it'll be better tomorrow. When i'm down in the dumps I like to watch some of my old movies,, which could be anything from Grease to Titanic, julia roberts, meg ryan, tom hanks or Steven Segal movies. I think BLESSED would be niced stamped on the jewelry,, which is exactly how i feel lately. Thanks for being so nice!!

Boo on a grumpy day :( How nice of you to host a giveaway to get rid of the grumps.

Unfortunately I tend to eat when I'm grumpy. I am trying to do something soothing (watch tv or take a walk) instead, and I try to remember to ask God to change my attitude.

That necklace is beautiful. Thank you for having this giveaway!

I hope you cheer up soon. I'm feeling a little grumpy myself.

I really need election season to be over. If I get one more state rep robo call while I'm changing a diaper, I'm going to start mailing them to the offenders' headquarters!

koopermom said...

Sorry you are grumpy today!! I tend to always to turn to chocolate. and diet coke. heaven.

Princess Caitlin said...

Coffee. Sit down with a good cuppa, and just send a long, ranty email to my besty. Works wonders. :)
And if that doesn't do it, I go for a walk and think of things I'm grateful for.

Jenna said...

Bad moods are no fun. Believe it or not, when I'm grumpy, I like to clean.

I love to make a warm cup of coffee (Well, hot chocolate now that I'm prego). And go sit in my computer room, put on my favorite music, and just escape for awhile.

When I'm feeling grumpy I just remember the times when I'm in the absolute best mood possible and my husband is being a total grump, and how his grumpiness can bring me down when I let it. Then I just decide I'm not going to bring anyone down. If that doesn't work, then I tell my family I need a few minutes to collect myself and I'll be back in a sec. Singing along to a great "vent" song helps tremendously, too.

Good luck to you getting past the grumps! You deserve a wonderful day!

Just the thought of eating ice cream cheers me up. Yesterday we went out and bought everything that we would need to buy strawberry ice cream in our ice cream machine. We've never used it before. I bet the first batch will turn out kind of awful, but, its been so long since I've had any kind of ice cream, I think strawberry awfulness will taste good anyways.

Sorry you have the blahs. Some things that get me out of the blahs are going for a brisk walk in the cooler part of the day, watching a comedy/movie, and there's always chocolate. :)

Hey you, No worries. I do like to go shopping as well but that can get you into trouble. :0)

Otherwise I like to call up my wonderful, talented, blessed and beautiful SISTER and just talk. Usually I get down when I'm lonely so that kills two birds with one stone. Chear up sweets. LOVES Holli!!

One word...Starbucks!

Tarasview said...

well... I'm not the best one to give advice on this particular topic but I'll give it a go! I read. I read wonderful stories that make me laugh and cry. I ask my husband to take my children out without me for an hour and take a hot bath. I call a friend and vent and cry and let it all out (so to speak).

oh. and I blog too :)

Jamie said...

Hope you cheer up soon!! Definitely getting out in the cool air, or taking a drive (not in traffic) with the music cranked up, hehe. And of course the good ol' chocolate, but then you'll feel worse afterward :-( So I try & think of all the things in my life that I have to be grateful for. Hope this helps!

First I put on anything by my favorite musician. Next I bake up some seriously fattening cookies -- usually Russian tea cakes (primarily butter & flour), steep a cup of tea and turn off all electronic devices but the music. Finally I sit down on the sofa with all of the above and either a good book or my husband for good conversation and just let the grumpiness drift away :)

Hope you feel happier soon :)

Looks like the leaves helped to lift your spirits. When I'm grumpy, I snuggle with whichever of my babies will have me or clean something.

Great necklace! When I'm down I either cheer myself up by watching a funny movie or dancing around like an idiot to loud music. Moving around always seems to make me feel better!

Buying a little something just for me. Or looking through inspiring magazines.

Cute pendant!!

I hope you’re feeling better today and the sun is shining on you. The best way to rid yourself of the grumpies is to find a quite place to sit, close your eyes and count your blessings. It’s so hard to be grumpy when you think of those.

Have a lovely day, Beki.

I listen to music (and your "Here comes the Sun" was perfect!)... I look through my "Happy Book": a little photo album with lots of my favorite pics of my family.... and I PAINT!!! Getting out my watercolors and painting always cheers me up!

Melissa5 said...

I read a good book and lose myself in it. I forget everything and especially why I was grumpy in the 1st place.

Graceful Moments said...

Make a list of your blessings. At first it's hard but once you start, you find there are so many things that you take for granted, like seeing, hearing, breathing, etc. you guilt yourself right out of being grumpy. If that doesn't work, eat the chocolate!

Monkey Giggles said...

I go for more coffee

treasurefield said...

I wanna jump in the leaves!!

When I've got the grumps, I go with it for just a bit (haha!) then turn on some good peppy music and dance (if no one's around). If that doesn't do it, I have a nice long talk with myself. I'm pretty convincing, too!
Nice necklace! I wouldn't know what word to add, but if I'm the lucky winner, I'll think of something. ;)

Oops, hit post before I finished.
Favorite ways to cheer myself up? A bath with the music blasting and the door locked so the kids can't storm in. And sewing lately which has been rather therapeutic when my machine cooperates with me!

caleyadams said...

I get the hubs to watch the kids so I can take a long (I consider a 15-minute shower 'long' these days!) hot shower, while blasting and singing along with some old skool Madonna. I follow it up with an episode of something good (depending on the time of year- Project Runway, Top Chef, Grey's Anatomy, etc.) while eating something yummy (brownies usually do the trick). :)

Mama Cissy said...

When I get down in the dumps, I make sure I take a walk , take a hot shower, do my hair, put on makeup and look really nice. Then I make a fresh pot of coffee and put my feet up and read a good book. Also, I do some deep breathing and a bit of exercise and before I know it - I am back in the swing!!

blackfeatherfarm said...

Paper girl, has my second choice to a tea ! {pun intended} My first remedy for the blues is - the common favorite - ice cream,{ thats with a small slice of chocolate cake on the side} and the movie Seabiscuit. Works everytime !

If I am down, which isn't too often, because I know the Joy of the Lord is my strength. I think of all the things that others go through, and their troubled times, and soon enough, my situation isn't all that bad. I constantly pray without ceasing. This helps keep the depression away!
