Wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I,

wanna talk about number 1...(it's a country song.)
Truth be told, I'm a shy person.
One of the (few) things I dislike about blogging is when I feel like I'm talking about myself all the time. How incredibly vain am I?!

It's like my wedding day when I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and I was super nervous and my dad said, "If you're this nervous you don't have to do it!" I said, "No, I want to get married! I just don't want everyone to stare at me! Can't they all just sit in their seats and look at the front of the church until I get up there?" The attention makes me uncomfortable.

But I put the call out recently for open mic question time and so now I'm in the answering kind of mood.
But first, I apologize for talking about myself all the time. Really.

What kind of camera do you have?
A Canon Rebel. I'll be honest that I don't know much about it or how it works. But I love taking photos with it.
And I like when I'm out in public with it and other people get "camera envy".
I frequently get people that ooh and ahh over it and say they've been wanting to get one.
So that tells me that the people that have done their research approve.
I didn't do any research.
My dad did and told me that it was the right camera for me. And I believed him.

What came first, your blog or your etsy shop?
I'm pretty sure it was my blog, but it's been a long time ago!
I was, however, already selling jewelry on ebay for several years and had a clientele built up there. So I didn't really start my etsy shop from the ground up, fortunately.
I had heard about how fun blogging was so I thought I'd give it a try.
And then I got hooked! It's so easy to share pictures and little life moments and it's become a bit of a journal. And then when people comment, it just makes it that much more fun.
If you're reading this and you don't regularly comment on people's blogs, you should start. :) I promise I'm not begging for comments here, but really - bloggers thrive on comments. It assures them that someone out there is reading.

Have you ever eaten powdered sugar straight out of the box?
Nope! I have eaten salt straight out of the container though! I'm a salty person, not a sweet person.

You might think this boring and laugh - but your town and church. Your every day life is what I would love seeing more of.
I think that's a fun question!
You can see little glimpses of our town here. It's a blog post I did last summer with my kids. And you can see our church blog here. You might even recognize some of the pictures. :)

How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Not many! Maybe 8 pairs or so? I'm too lazy to go count. But I'm pretty practical when it comes to shoes. Let's not talk about how many lipglosses I have, however...

You said you play the drums on your worship team at church. When did you start playing?
I started playing in 6th grade. I played through high school and then that was it.
Until a few years ago when someone at our church said they were looking for a drummer and The Man said, "Oh! My wife plays drums!" I about smacked him, because it had been sooooo many years since I'd played!
I mean, wasn't everyone in the high school band?
Who can pick up their flute or clarinet after 15 years and start playing again?!
But I got suckered into it and now I do it regularly. And I'll admit that it's kind of fun. Except when people watch me. Maybe I can convince them to put the drum set at the back of the church... Hmmm....

how many kids do you have? where do you live, and how old are you
3 kids ages 8, 7, and 2. We live in Kansas and I'm 32 years old as of yesterday!
I'm not a fan of lying, but the number 29 is sounding more and more appealing and it just might become my new age.

And because every post needs to have at least one photo (in my own little "I know it all" book) here is The Baby curled up sleeping with Lilo.

Thank you all for putting up with my babble!

I feel the same way about talking about 'me' all the time. I get so sick of hearing about myself! haha!
I don't think you talk about yourself too much though.

I've really enjoyed getting to know various people from all over on the "blog network".
Have a good day!

Okay, Beki. So you convinced me to leave a comment. I've been checking into your blog for awhile now and it, in part, has inspired me to take over ours (my hubby let it go about a year ago...when he discovered facebook). It's funny how we can live in the same town and see each other occassinally at school events, yet it's through your blog that I feel like I'm really getting to know you.

Thanks for your posts. I really do enjoy them. Check out my blog if you want. It's still definitely a work in progress. I haven't changed everything to "fit" me yet.

I know what you mean about leaving comments. I am so excited when someone leaves one on my blog, it's like a little gift left for me. I've gotten to know some pretty cool people that I will probably never meet face to face! Except I shouldn't say that because I will probably be in your town at some point visiting the In-Laws and I might run into you!

I feel wierd blogging sometimes too. And I didn't think I'd care about comments, but sometimes I feel like I'm talking to myself. I started my blog to keep my inlaws in touch with the kids since they are on opposite ends of the continent, but they are divorced so neither comment.

I have the Rebel as well, but moine is film, I'm assuming yourse is the digital...I want to get that one because we have a nice variety of lens that will work with it.

I was so excited to see you answered by question. There was a picture on your church blog that looks like how I remember Kansas... Thanks!

32 sounds good. All depends on where you are. I used to think 30 sounded old and now 50 doesn't.

I love the picture of your boy sleeping with his dog. So cute.

I'm the same way about not liking to be in the spotlight. I need to try being in more photos and not always behind my camera.
It was nice getting to know a little more about the woman behind the great jewelry!

8? Yarg, I am terrible. I just counted mine for today's post.

It's embarrasing, really.

37. 42 if I count flip-flops. Which I don't.

In my defense, they're almost all from Payless and Target!

Thanks for sharing....and love love the picture at the end!

What a wonderful, quirky peek into who you are. What's embarrassing is that I have more cameras than you have years!

Just to let you know you have a readership...I'm enjoying your blog up in Canada - it is great to read about real people when you can't get out among them much (I'm a SAHM with 3 kids, nursing at the keyboard and typing with one hand!):-)

That's such a cute picture of the little guy and his puppy! Awww... :P They're both so adorable.

that is quite possibly the cutest picture i have ever seen in my life, and girl, i've seen a *lot* of pictures.

in other news, i've always had it in my head that people who play drums are instrinsically cool, so you are like off the charts at this point.

and also: really? never had just a small scoop of pure powdered sugar? oh honey, stop reading my inane comment and go get yourself a spoonful. you'll be instantly converted from the salties to sweetdom. either that, or you'll really need to brush your teeth.

Great question and answer post! Love your camera. I have a Nikon D60, love it, but don't know how to work it completely. It takes photos, that's what matters. Love the photo of 'The Baby' and Lilo. I feel that every post needs at least one photo as well (if you couldn't tell from my blog, hehe). So you are creative and talented, very nice.
