Perfection.

I took 2 of my kids (The Girl and The Baby - The Boy is on a Colorado getaway with his daddy) to see the movie Up.
LOVE.
This movie, in my opinion, was absolute perfection.
It is funny, charming, and witty.

Ed Asner voices one of the main characters, and The Girl was quite excited about that because she has a fondness for him.
She wrote a huge report on him in third grade as her "Kansas Character".
Did you know Ed Asner is from Kansas? Now you do. (I didn't either.)

A young boy who's an outcast from his family and an elderly widowed gentleman make the perfect odd couple.
Throw in talking dogs and a mama bird named Kevin and it's great.

It pulled so much emotion from me and I had to keep reminding myself, it's just a cartoon.

My heart broke when fertility problems were hinted at, and the movie doesn't sugar coat death in any way.
If you've ever been in love, you can relate to the romance between Carl and Ellie.
I can't think of an audience that wouldn't love it.

It's action packed, stunningly beautiful with vivid colors, and loaded with emotion, all backed by a solid story.
We were in a packed theater and when the film ended and the credits started rolling, not a single person moved.
Everybody there sat through the credits.

It's one of those films where you just want to sit and continue soaking it in before you walk away.

You leave feeling encouraged, inspired, challenged, and grateful for every tiny moment life has to offer.

Love. This. Movie.

Thank you Disney Pixar, I now have a new favorite.

Yup, that movie was wonderful! I was warned to bring tissues and they were definitely needed. My daughter keeps pretending to be Alpha so she can do the funny voice and she tries to put the cone of shame on Daddy. Yeah, he's deserving. I can't wait until it comes out on DVD!

yes, definitely a MUST see movie! UP is now my favorite new movie and, I agree, tissues were needed. I was not prepared...but I'm just silly emotional like that. :)

LOVE it. Thanks for sharing your review! They should pay you for it! :)

We LOVED it too!!!! I think the whole fertility thing was too much for little ones to understand though. I could hear kids asking their moms WHY is she crying and WHY can't she have kids.

I don't ever remember being so tuched by a movie...in a REALLY long time...
But I left this movie with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face!
Before the credits, my 6 year old said, "can we see it again?"

Great review :)

I have to agree with you, this movie, by far rates right up there with Toy Story (I just LOVE that movie to pieces and can't wait for TS3!). It was so sweet and sentimental I had tears in my eyes. Pixar definitely knows how to do a movie for both kids and adults! Awesome, awesome and I recommend everyone see it!

I wholeheartedly agree! Loved it. Maybe more than my six year old. I would go back all by myself and watch it again. Then I could sob freely during the sweet parts without my son asking me "Why are you crying, Mama?" in a very loud voice so everyone around us could hear!
