It was very non-traditional. The bride and groom were of a mature age, and wore their jeans for the ceremony.
The cake had Harley motorcycles on it.
It was so sweet! And the ceremony made me tear up.
They had these on the tables as favors for people to take.
I love it! A simple mason jar, filled with candy, tied with string.
So perfect. If I were getting married again, I'd definitely do this.
And I'd have a farm wedding.

2. I realize I've been whining for months on here about our internet service.
We finally have one that's reliable. It's lovely.
But. But... it's a big ol' but. We're limited to 5000mb a month.
That meant nothing to me when I first heard it.
Then I figured out that any sites with flash or videos suck up the mb's really fast.
If we go over our limit, we pay a small fortune.
And I already went over. By nearly 1000mb's.
So my blog hopping is going to have to be cut way back. Darnit.
That's the price we pay for living in the country. And being Amish. We still don't have tv.
3. The other day we had a snake in our driveway.
You can't tell from this picture, but he was about 6 feet long.

4. A few days later, we had an owl in our yard.
I looked out the kitchen window and saw a brown "lump" in the grass but couldn't tell what it was.
My eyes are old.
Then he turned his head so I could see his face. And I grabbed my camera.
I didn't have a zoom lens on it, unfortunately, and I was shooting through the window.
I was afraid if I went outside, I'd scare him off.

Then he flew up to the top of the chicken coop.
I think he was looking for snakes. If so, he's in luck. We have plenty to share.

5. I got an invite the other day to a blogger party. In New York City.
By a host named "Martha". You may know of her. She's a mogul.
She's possibly known for her tv shows, cookbooks, prison time, and uber craftiness.
A-ma-zing!!
But. But... it's another big ol' but. I don't know if I can go.
We can't seem to find childcare for 3 kids. Crazy but true.
I won't admit the number of hours I cried over it yesterday. There may have been some hormones involved...
It's next week. So I'm scrambling. Really scrambling. Trying to make this thing happen.

oh that is a bummer about your internet. the mason jar looks like it is filled with jelly belly's...YUM! The snack would scare the heck out of me but watching the owl would be so cool. I really hope you can go see Martha. That would be a trip of a life time. Good luck.
Oh Beki! I hope you can find someone to watch your kids, so you can go to NYC. You're still fabulous either way, though. XOXO
Pryaing that it all works out for you to go!!
I would so take care of the kiddos if I lived close
Hope you can go! What an awesome opportunity. If I was close I'd watch the kids too.
I love the owl!
That is the coolest opportunity!
Praying that you can go!!!
Maybe I don't want to come visit your farm. These snakes are really freaking me out.
You have to go to Martha's! How can you even be considering not to? What a great opportunity!
I second that! You HAVE to go!! You will regret it forever if you don't...surely someone will come through for you?!!!
My fingers are crossed...
Good luck! I hope you get to go to New York.
P.S. Love the owl photos! Lucky farm girl. :)
Hotels, like in NY often offer a babysitting service....
if I was closer I'd look after them because you absolutely must go, even if a stranger has to look after your kiddos.
I think you should bring the kids with you to NY. Martha likes kids, right? Yeah. I'm sure Bad Baby would make a wonderful impression! You know if I was closer, I'd take the kids for you. Darn my lack of teleportation skills!
And can I just tell you that I'm not a fan of your computer time being limited either? Yeah. Just sayin'.
I hope you can go! That's really exciting!
And so is your owl. Owls are so fascinating. They're really beautiful creatures. And I can't think about them without remembering Owl from Winnie the Pooh. I love that know-it-all guy!
Really hope you are able to go.
that owl is amazing! how cool that it landed in your yard. i don't think I've even seen one in real life before. pass on the snake though thanks
Wow - "Martha" you must know some people :)
Hope all works out for you.
Good Luck!!!!

Hope you get to go! I hate that you are limited on your internet. I had a LOOOOONG talk with AT&T last night and today my internet is the best it has been in weeks! It is high speed but through the phone line which is yucky! So we are hoping they found the problem today and it is fixed. I asked for money back so I think they got serious. ;)
Have a great week!
Hugs, Lisa
I took photos at a friend's wedding on a farm a couple years ago. It was beautiful! (She didn't have mason jars of jelly beans, though. THAT is clever!)
Oooh, I hope you can go to the party!!!
Love that owl on the barn! How amazing!
I do hope you can find some child care that falls out of the sky!
Sorry about your internet connection. I sure hope you get to go to NY. That would be so fabulous!
Love the jellybean jar :) x
Just drop the kids off here in NW Ga on the way (not exactly on the way, but...) You have to go see Martha!
I hope you get to go to Martha!!! Our owls comes at around 3 in the morning and are so loud I would swear they were in the bedroom. Because of that I've never gotten to actually see them.
I hope you get to go to see Martha.
What beautiful wildlife you have.
You can drop them off in Massachusetts on your way - when you've got 4 - what's 3 more?!??
Love the owl, just love it. The snake would have been dead in a few seconds. We have a ton of snakes living around here (harmless gardner snakes) and most of them know to stay the heck away from the lady with the big, red, Ford Expedition....lest you want her to put it in reverse just to come run you over.
So impressed!!! You are AMAZING!!!! I wish I could help out with your childcare!! Blessings on your week:)
Kristin
