Oscar Glow.

So last night I watched the Oscars, the same way I do every year.
In my sweats. With plenty of junk food at hand. Stuffing my face as I watch the starlets walk the red carpet.
And I yell out critiques to the tv, as if they can hear me.
Initial thoughts from last night's fashion:
I absolutely loved Scarlett Johanson's dress. Burgundy/Magenta lace... stunning.
I heard some of the reporters saying they didn't like it. ?? It was amazing.

Although she's crazy beautiful, I didn't love Halle Berry's look.
Her dress was beautiful, but I wished it had been a color. It was sort of taupe and it was the exact same shade as her skin. I'm not a fan of monocromatic looks.
I wish it had been navy or hot pink or something that contrasted with her skin.

Gwyneth Paltrow: LOVED it! Like liquid silver. Loved her tan skin, casual straight hair. Loved it all.

I thought Reese Witherspoon looked beautiful, but I felt like it was nearly identical to Julia Roberts' look from a few years ago.

Sandra Bullock: Gorgeous in red. Love the dark hair and pale skin.

Anne Hathaway looked incredible in every single thing she put on during the show. (8 costume changes, I think?) That girl can work the pale skin and red lips like nobody's business.

Amy Adams: Stunning. Navy sparkles from the neck to the ankles. Absolutely loved it. She should've skipped the necklace though.

Hailee Steinfeld: (the little girl from True Grit) Perfection. She looked like a 14 year old princess!! So so sweet and lovely.

The men: Yeah, they looked pretty much the same as always in their tuxes.

I didn't notice any jaw droppingly bad looks on the red carpet this year.

Want to know a quick and easy way to get an Oscar Glow on your own skin?
It's in your pantry. And probably in your fridge too.

Baking soda!

Make a little paste in your hand with baking soda and water, scrub your face, rinse it off and you'll glow like crazy! Your skin will thank you.

Did you watch the Academy Awards last night? Or do something more productive with your time than I did? Ha.

I didn't watch a single minute of it Beki. Thanks for the run down - now I'm going to look up all these gals and see what they looked like - you have my curiousity going! ;o)

Are you for real on the baking soda for our face? I have never, ever heard of such a thing - but it makes sense! OMG! How often do you do it????? Please tell!

I did not watch it. I just know that The Kings Speech won cause of the corgis.

Pretty much agree with your take on the Oscar fashion! I found it all a bit subdued this year. As for the baking soda, I use it two to three times a can use it everyday because it is mild but it does do a great job of sloughing off those dead skin cells.

I did watch it. I felt like it last forever. I fell asleep during it, and when I woke up, it was still on. I'm glad to see someone else liked Scarlet Johanson's dress. I thought it was pretty and different, but I kept seeing all the reports and commentary saying it was a miss.

Realistically I do the baking soda scrub every 6 or 7 weeks... BUT if I remembered more often, I'd do it every few days! I just always forget.

I should keep a box of baking soda in my bathroom cabinet to remind me.

I got my hopes up, not to pressure you, but hoped that the Oscar title of your post was to introduce "Oscar" to us, you know, Oscar, your new puppy.
Praying for your lost love and the one you will find.

No, didn't watch the Oscars, probably why I thought you were introducing a new puppy :)

I watched as much as my husband could stand, then turned it. I thought James Franco (who I usually love and thought was hysterical in the promos)was a dud. Anne Hathaway was fantastic!

Last night...last night...what did I do last night??? *thinking* I know I watched the race yesterday afternoon (still doing a little happy dance from that one)...oh yeah, then I went and bought some plastic drawers to reorganize the toys and get rid of the toy box. Yep. That's my excitement. Whew.

I actually watched them this year since I am unemployed. I thought it was SO awesome that the Kings Speech won...I heart that movie so much! Anne was so cute and funny, you are right, she rocked her outfits big time. It was fun, I actually made popcorn on a Sunday night and settled in after watching The Amazing Race. If you found a new lovie, yes, you definitely need to let us all in on it!

We only caught the last three awards. My hubby and I both thought Sandra didn't look good. Which is odd since we both really like her. Hmmm. I'll have to go look at her again.

Also, love the duct tape on the craft thingy. Brookie has one of those for all her beads. Gonna have to show her what you did!

i would rather gauge my eyeballs out then watch an award show (sorry, a little dramatic) i instead watched cupcakes wars in between blowing my nose, coughing & drifting in and out of conciseness... good times. (not)
i currently have a rudolph like glow, so when it goes away i will pull out the baking soda for a healthy glow! :)

Beki! Beki! Beki! I baking soda'dad last night! My face felt wonderful!

I think I'll do it again tonight! I might do it for a week straight, then go for once a week.

Do you scrub it and wash off, or scrub it and leave on, or just put on and wash off? So many questions - you never imagined, huh?!

HA! I love the run down of the dresses. I tried to watch it, I honestly did, it's just so darn boring I got side tracked on the computer. I'm gonna try the baking soda thing - thanks for the tip! Oh, and off subject, I'm actually able to take pictures that aren't dark and blurry after reading your blog posts about taking good pics - thanks!!! :)
