Yesterday Ellie disappeared.
Gone.
No sign of her anywhere.
She's been so good about staying right in our yard that we didn't think she'd run off.
But she's gone. We checked with all the neighbors, rode around in the woods on the 4-wheeler and can't find her anywhere. Gone.
And my heart hurts. I can't stop crying.
I know she's just a dog, but I love her.
I'm a blubbering sobbing mess.
When The Baby woke up this morning he asked, "Where's Ehhwie?" And I had to tell him she's gone.
I'm just so sad today.

Oh no Beki! I will pray that Ellie comes back home! I wish we lived closer, I would give you guys a big hug and try to help you find Ellie. My heart aches, my dog Lottie got loose once and ran up the path to her mama and I freaked out because I didn't know where she was until I heard her bark. I will pray for you guys :)

I am so sorry! My first dog ran off as a puppy and showed up 8 hours later. I told her she had a 10 pm curfew and we did very well from then on. I really feel someone took her in for the night and you will find her today. I also know how helpless you feel. Please know I am praying for you and your family.

I'm sooo sorry to read this, you poor, sweet family! I'm hoping and praying darling Ellie finds her way home to your loving arms. My doggie ran out of my yard once on New Year's Day at another dog in the street (with an owner) and wouldn't listen and I screamed like bloody murder for her. Fortunately she let me finally catch her but that was a hard and scary lesson, I scolded her so badly and then she was placed in her cage for three hours. She KNEW she was a bad doggie...from then on, we close our gate all the time she's in our yard since I can't trust her. Our youngest asked if our dog loved us, I said I didn't know if an animal was capable of deciding that, but I do know that our dog IS LOVE, pure love as defined in the holy book. I am sorry that your love is missing.

Praying for Ellie's safe return! Our dog ran off one day and we found her the next morning at a bus stop about a half a mile away. Going to bed that night was so hard to do! Maybe you could make some posters???
Praying for you Beki! I completely understand. We live out in the woods and my cat got out once. He was gone for like 2 weeks and I cried feeling like I'd let him down somehow. Magically one day he just showed back up at the back door wanting to come in. Maybe Ellie will do the same (but a lot sooner!!!)

My heart hurts for you. As I wipe the tears away from eyes yet they just keep flowing as I try and type this to you. Losing a pet and I mean losing one where it has just disappears is just about the most painful feeling anyone could go though. The wondering is just about so heart breaking it can feel like it's really breaking into a million little pieces. I hope and pray that you will be rejoined with your beloved dog.
I rescue and foster hundreds of dogs that come from high kill shelters down south. My love for dogs is so very deep. I believe I love them more then I do humans. They really are the kindest, gentlest and can become a best friend. Their love for you is so much deeper then one could ever believe. A dog is a great loyal friend to have in life.
I am so very sorry that you and your family are going though this pain right now. I have been right where you are right now and it really does sucks the life out of you.

I'm so sorry Beki. Years ago one of our cats disappeared for 14 days. Then one day she just showed up again. To this day we have no idea where she was all that time. Praying you will have a happy ending with Ellie. Hugs to you, sweet friend!

Hang in there, make sure you tell your mail carrier and call the rural utility companies that may be out and about in the area. A dog was located in town not long ago by a mail carrier that "heard about her through the grapevine." Will pray she returns home safe and sound.

I am so sorry to hear about Ellie. We just lost (had to put down) our almost 10 yr. old schnauzer, Abby.
She was definitely a part of the family and although it gets a tiny bit easier each day, we are still not over losing her on Valentine's Day. As pityful as it seems, we still keep the blanket at the foot of our bed that we carried her around on for the last few days. Somehow it gives us comfort.
I know how you must be hurting and I hope that she finds her way back to you soon!

Aww my heart is aching for you. My hopes are that your sweet doggy shows back up and SOON! Dogs are way more than dogs..they're family. My sweet doggy of 9 years just passed away exactly two weeks ago. I've been so depressed and sad without him. I've cried everyday since the day he passed. My 2 1/2 year old son keeps asking for him too =( Saying a prayer that you are reunited with him soon.

I empathize with you, hon. And I have never believed for one moment that they are "just dogs"... they climb into your heart and squeeze the livin' love outta you and never let go. It's been over a year since we had to put our second doggie down due to old age and I continue blubber and grieve... they were a part of our family and we still miss them terribly. Its so scary when a pup is lost, they are so helpless and I always feel guilty about turning my back or not watching them and then they are gone in the blink of an eye. I've been very lucky that my dog returns or has been found when this happens. I'm wishing you the best of luck that your dog will come back too.
