Ewwww. And Eeeeek too.

I'm pretty sure it was the 7 foot cotton headed rattle moccasin, the rarest, meanest, and most venomous snake in all of Kansas.

Well, obviously it was the rarest, meanest, most venomous snake in all of Kansas. In fact, it's probably the rarest, meanest, most venomous snake in the whole world. Good thing he was wearing gloves. ;-p

At least you didn't discover it in his pants pockets while doing laundry. ;P

I'm impressed that he's wearing gloves (they are really cute)! My kids grab snakes with their bare hands all the time. Shiver. Shiver.

No need to fret. Whatever type of snake it is, it is most definitely NOT poisonous. Venomous snakes have diamond-shaped heads, meaning they're shaped kind of like an arrow head, so the back part is much wider than the front. Also, this type of snake doesn't have stripes, even as a baby. I think he caught a simple garter snake.

ACK! I love your snake description.

Ha! So cute. I had one of these "venomous" snakes for a pet when I was young! We had a snake in our yard last week and my girls were all gathered around looking at it!

That's awesome! I could tell you all sorts of snake stories from when I was growing up in the boonies of the Appalachians in PA.

Now tell the truth....were you really that close taking pictures, or were you 50 feet away using a killer zoom lens?

;)

Oh lord have mercy!!! I would faint if I saw the kids coming up with a snake....being as it would most likely be a copperhead. I could totally see my daughter managing to catch one....oh I think I'm feeling sick....

I do remember picking one up for a bunch of little kids when I was a teenager though. I wonder if becoming a parent has made me a wuss :p lol
