He's holding an old photo of his daddy, The Man, from a similar age.
The Baby is a little Mini Me of The Man.
When they are side by side, they stand alike, walk alike, gesture alike, look alike.
Yesterday I asked The Baby, "How do you still end up in our bed every night?!"
He said, "I walk, silly. I has feet, you know."
So I guess that explains that.
After carrying him for 10 months, giving birth naturally, nursing for a year, and pouring my blood sweat and tears into this child, the least he could do is have a little bit of my gene pool. Right?
Can't there be something, anything, that resembles his mama?
That's not asking for too much, I think.
Apparently I'm wrong though.
The Baby is the spitting image of The Man.
And it turns out that it's really not so bad after all.

So when I was laying on the OR table after my emergency C-Section - sick, disoriented and tired - the nurse handed my baby girl over the my husband and exclaimed "she sure looks like you, dad!". And to this day people say...."is she yours?"

Isn't it amazing? I love to see what the gene pool comes up with. I'm lucky..I got one that looks like grandpa; one that looks like grandma and one that is my mini me in boy form.
Wow! He does look JUST like his daddy!! I have one or two of those too. I promise I was part of the process!!!
