God Bless America

Last year I shared my 9/11 experience here.

If you'd like to share your's, I'm interested.
Each of our experiences are so different and so personal, yet all connected.
We're bruised but not broken.

Today, may we be grateful for the incredible blessings we have.
Hug your families, friends, and loved ones.
Look to the God who is all powerful, all mighty, and can bring a peace that passes all understanding.

God bless you.

The planes may have been hijacked on 9-11, but I feel like our lives have been hijacked ever since, by our own leaders, by the terrorists, by the haters and by our own fear.
I've never thought about feeling bruised by that day, but I think that is a perfect description. Bruising can actually be good, it can remind us not to repeat something. I really hope love will prevail but so far fear and hate seem to be winning. Thanks for being a beacon of love and hope here on your blog and with your inspiring RustedChain creations.

I was a senior in college and was walking on my way to work, which was down the street from my school and apartment. On the way I passed by the local National Guard unit, something I had never really paid much attention to. There were armed troops standing on top of it. That was a pretty alarming sight and then I when I got to work a few minutes later, which was my church's denominational headquarters, I was immediately pulled into a room and someone pointed at a TV. Numb shock is the only thing I can remember. And then every employee from me (the copy girl) to the president of our church joined together and prayed and offered what words we had . . . which were broken and few. An unbelievable time. On this tenth anniversary I'm praying for beauty from such devastating ashes . . . that God will continue to protect our country, which He has faithfully guarded since that time.

The flag you have is gorgeous.
