That's just weird.

What a weird weekend.

- By Friday night I was desperate for alone time. I crave it sometimes. I was at my wit's end. I just wanted to go shop at Hobby Lobby for hours or anything to empty my brain. Alone.
For some reason my family likes me. And they wanted to be with me. A lot. So they took me to dinner.
After dinner, it was too late to go to the city, so I pleaded with them for just some time to go browse the walmarts. Alone. They agreed.
I took a seperate car, let out a big sigh of relief, and headed to the only place around that's open at 9:30pm. The WalMarts.
And wouldn't you know, as I was shopping alone brainlessly, I heard voices I recognized.
My own people. The Man, The Girl, The Boy, and The Baby. *sigh*
They decided they needed to take a trip there too. And they hung out with me on my "mommy needs to be alone time."
Weird.

- Right before I went to The WalMarts, I swung into McDonald's for a coffee. I don't know why. I try their coffee about once ever 6 months, and always cringe from the strange funk, and swear I'm never drinking it again.
But I thought it would be a relaxing thing in my alone time, to have a hot coffee in my hands.
And you know what? It was good. Really good. Later I mentioned it to The Man and he said he'd heard that McD's changed their coffee.
So I suddenly like McDonald's coffee.
Weird!

- The Baby sprouted a mustache. An impressive gray one, at that.
Weird.

- We had an earthquake Saturday night. Actually it was in Oklahoma, but we felt it here.
And actually I didn't feel it at all. Even though I was sitting in the same room as The Man, and he felt it.
He goes, "What was that?! And why is the chandelier swinging??" I looked up and sure enough, that thing was swinging like crazy!
But I hadn't felt anything. Probably my only chance to feel an earthquake in my lifetime and I missed it.
Weird.
- My house is clean. (mostly...) Weird.

- I got an extra hour of sleep Sunday morning. Then got up for a bit and decided I needed a nap. And slept for 3 more hours. Weird.

- "I before E, except after C." Weird.

How was your weekend? (hopefully not weird.)

The Walmarts? Because why? You haven't been formally introduced to them yet, so you're calling them by plurals? Beki, let me introduce you to... WalMart! WEIRD.

Just kidding Friend. Sounds like you had a strangely weird weekend. Aren't you so glad your family loves you though? Thank goodness for the "alone time" in the separate car! LOL

The earthquake was just downright bizarre - it woke me up and scared the bajeebers out of me until I realized what it was. Crazy weird.

Come to think of it, it has just been a weird weekend. Must be in the air or something.

Well, you handled your family including themselves in your "alone" time much better than me. I love socializing, but I have realized that every so often, I need to step back, and regroup...alone. It makes me a better mom and teacher of my kids. And makes the hubs appreciated me more after a day of "Dad and Kids"!! :)

I felt both of those Oklahoma earthquakes - the first one woke me up and second interrupted a card game with my in laws. And you're right- It. Was. Weird. In laws are from southern California and they said our little quake, while not the strongest, was the longest they had ever been through. Weird. :)

I so get that. Every Sunday morning I head into town to starbucks and sit for 2 hours with my green tea and my magazines. I look soooo forward to that. I re-energize by being alone. My husband re-energizes by being with a group. Weird? :0)

Ah, to hear others weird sounding so normal!
Your family is blessed!
My weekend was spent being a nursemaid to 4/5 of my children. People always seem amazed that I have 5 boys. Honestly, it's usually when they are sick that I realize just how "outnumbered" I really am!
