Shine On!

We want to do so much and yet it can seem overwhelming.
We, alone, can't change everything. We can't rescue the world.
The world can seem dark and depressing. And we can't tackle it all.

But we can make a difference to one. That's all it takes!
One YOU being a light to one other person.
You were not born for mediocrity. Not created for the status quo.
You were born to shine.

When my kids leave for school each day I yell to them, "Be a shining light for Jesus!"
I want them to step up when they see someone in need.
Offer generous compliments.
Pick up books that someone else dropped.
Be a friend to the new kid in class.
Just make a difference to one.

You can make a difference.
You can change the world, one life at a time. One smile at a time.
One hug at a time. One act of goodness at a time.

The world needs more of you.
Today, Shine on!

(The Girl took my photos. Kansas is windy, y'all. Really stinkin' windy. I could probably use some hair dye. Houndstooth brooch lovingly made by MKMathews on etsy. I'm completely smitten with it.)

Hi Pretty Lady!
I agree completely! It feels overwhelming to try to change the world, but one little thing can make a huge difference!

I was just thinking that your hair looks darker! And the "Be a shining light for Jesus!" is awesome, but I totally read it while picturing someone else in my head! "Be like Jesus, be like Jesus!" Can you guess?! :)
