The badger's back in town.

When we moved to the country we were told there was a badger on our property.
We'd see a tuft of brown fur scurry and once or twice The Man got a shot at it.

And then we caught it in a trap.

And I blogged it here.

And then? We discovered that it wasn't a badger at all, it was a woodchuck.
But by that time we'd already named our property Badger Creek and it stuck.

So the other day we were outside working and noticed a nose peeking out of the barn.

Then it would come a little further out...

Then it would see me with my big camera, give me the stink eye, and duck back inside.

After I'd gone back in the house and it felt like the danger was gone, I could see it come out and run around in the yard.

Crazy badger!! I mean, woodchuck.

Badgers, I mean woodchucks, aren't really that common in this area.
But our land has lots of trees and wood... for him to chuck. I am not even sure what that means.

Unrelated, that same afternoon I did climb up to the top of the barn and look around, something I've never done before.
Cool!

So, we have turkeys, cats, dogs, snakes, deer, turtles, toads, skunks, pheasant, possums, a beaver or two in our creek, and a badger... I mean woodchuck.

I think we need pest control.
Or the Duck Dynasty guys.
