When there's no pat on the back.

We all love a compliment. We love hearing atta boys and atta girls.
We love to see progress, accomplishments, achievements, success.
We love to see our hard work pay off and secretly take credit for it all.
We love a pat on the back.

But what happens when there's no pat on the back? No one is raving about us? Social media numbers drop or become stagnant.
Nothing exciting is happening. No one is fluffing our feathers and telling us how amazing we are.
It's quite easy to become discouraged. And you know why? Because we've put too much emphasis on all of those accolades!

We've become addicted to comments, likes, shares, numbers, votes. We are so focused on those that we forget who are true audience is.
We forget the mission. We forget what we're actually here for.

In those times, it's time to refocus.
Focus on these two things:
- Helping others in God's name
- Your natural talents, interests, & abilities.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. John 1:5

Success is not the key to happiness.
Redirect the attention to an audience of One. That's who we are meant to please.
And pleasing Him is the most successful thing you can ever do.
